Cleanse 9: Day 1.

Day 1 of the Forever Living Cleanse 9 is nearly over. I’ve eaten NOTHING all day.

Day 1 & 2 are to reset the way you think about food and to be honest, I can see how it’s doing it.

Surprisingly, I’ve only felt hungry once all day. I was on the train home from work and my tummy rumbled so much, I’m sure it had a place on the richter scale.

Now, it’s 8.30pm and even though I don’t feel hungry, my mind wants food because subconsciously, I know I should have eaten by now. That’s what the first 2 days are for – to squash this way of thinking and re – train myself.

Breakfast: 2 x Garcinia softgels, 1 x 120ml Aloe Gel with 250ml water & 1 x Therm tablet.

Snack: 1 x Fibre sachet with water

Lunch: 2 x Garcinia softgels, 1 x 120ml Aloe Gel with 250ml water 1 x Scoop Lite Shake with 300ml unsweetened almond milk & 1 x Therm tablet

Dinner: 1 x 120ml Aloe Gel with 250ml water 2 x Garcinia softgels

Evening: 1 x 120ml Aloe Gel with 250ml water

I’ve been given a list of free fruit/veg that I can eat at any time during the 9 days, in moderation, to curb hunger. Personally, I’ve decided not to eat anything today.

The supplements and water has definitely filled the hunger hole and the first day has been much easier than I expected.

What I will say, however, is that the Aloe Gel is probably one of the most horrendous things I’ve ever drank. It smells exactly as it tastes and there’s no word for it other than vile. There’s floaty bits in the gel that are exceptionally unappealing and mixing it with water gives you a pint of horrific-ness that took me a good 40 minutes to drink first time round.

Drinking 4 of those in the first 2 days would really put me off, so I decided to change how I drank it. Instead of a full pint, I decided to shot 2 x 60ml of Aloe Gel and glug copious amounts of water afterwards to get rid of the taste.

Forever Living should definitely take into consideration the taste of their products because if I hadn’t paid so much for the kit, I’d 100% be put off and think about giving up.

After work, I went off to Tesco and bought all my ‘free’, healthy foods ready to devour in days 3 – 9. Turkey breasts, chicken breasts, salmon fillets, asparagus, sweet potato and many other scrummy foods waiting to be eaten.

So, here we are – I’ve completed Day 1 – let’s see what tomorrow has to offer!

Love, Tasha

Cleanse 9: It’s Begun!

So, I’ve started my Cleanse 9!

The pack includes:

2 x 1 litre bottles of Aloe Vera Gel

54 x Garcinia Plus Softgels

9 x Fibre Sticks

1 x Pouch of Lite Ultra Shake Mix

18 x Therm Tablets

1 x Tape Measure

1 x Shaker

For 9 days, I have to follow strict rules to change the way I think about food and exercise.

Days 1 & 2 are designed to reset my mind and body. With no food allowance, I take a number of supplements, drink copious amounts of water and Aloe Vera and receive all the nutrients my body needs through shakes and fibre sticks.

Days 3- 9 is the main bulk of the diet where I’ll see positive results and feel a sense of well being. I’m allowed all of the same stuff as in days 1 & 2, including 1 x 600 calorie meal per day.

Inside the pack is also a booklet, outlining what I should do each day. It gives me a list of ‘free foods’ I can eat, such as fruit & veg, alongside recipes to make my shakes and 600 calorie meals much tastier.

Some may say this is a fad and a waste of money, others will love it and swear by their results. Who’s right? That’s what I’m going to figure out .

I’ve started the diet today and I’ll be giving you a day-by-day summary of how I’ve found it and how it’s made me feel. Most importantly, on the last day, I’ll share my results with you – how many inches I’ve lost (if any) alongside before and after photo’s so you can see for yourself.

What do you reckon? Think I can do it? Keep your eyes peeled for my first review later tonight…

Love, Tasha.

alt"Casino de Cuba - a newly opened restaurant/bar in Wigan, North West England. Colourful, flavoursome and ready to fiesta!"

Casino de Cuba…Let’s FIESTA!

Tasty food? Check.
Fruity (and strong) cocktails? Check.
Great friends? Check.

This place has it all. Casino De Cuba, a newly opened restaurant/bar that has definitely brought some flavour to my small hometown.

I went there last night for the very first time. It was quiet – it was Thursday night after all – but the manager (and Facebook) assures me they’re heaving at the weekend.

With salsa nights, saxophone players and DJ’s, Casino de Cuba sounds like a fiesta not to be missed.

I ordered the Pan Fried Chicken. Tomato-y and creamy, the dish had so much flavour and lots of crunchy onions and peppers that were a delightful addition.

Not only was the food comforting and tasty, we had waited a short while for our dishes, which signalled a hearty, homemade dish ready to be devoured!

I also treated myself with a freshly made Pineapple Mojito (of course!) Which – although tasty – could have held back on the soda and focused more on the pineapple.

The decor in the place was unreal! Homily yet fun. So many colours and lots of impressive wall art meaning that Casino de Cuba looks completely different to any other bar/restaurant in my town.

Aloe, Aloe? Propolis Perfect

Time for my 2nd Forever Living rave!

Out of the many lotions and products I was asked to sample, I was specifically drawn to the Aloe Propolis Creme. Mainly because it had a name I’d never heard of before.

With camomile and bee propolis amongst the aloe, the moisturiser helps to condition your skin and is especially effective for eczema and psoriasis sufferers.

I didn’t put this all over my face because I saw it as more of a cream to soothe irritating skin or spots and I have generally good skin and hardly ever break out so it was difficult to properly review this product. BUT…conveniently, I did have quite an annoying, dry spot on the side of my face that resembled a volcano eruption.

I applied the cream to that area of my face LITERALLY 3 times over 2 days and voila!

Admittedly, the photos aren’t the best quality but I can assure you – it was pretty big and even lashings of concealer couldn’t save me this time.

PLUS – it smelled great! All the other products I’ve sampled so far seem to smell…lotion-y…but this smelled a little sweeter, which was nice. I think it’s the bee propolis.

Anyway, as I said, I couldn’t properly review this cream – so if you have psoriasis, eczema or particularly dry/spotty skin and you have used this, I’d love to know what you thought!

Eureka!

Just a quick one this morning as I’m so happy to report back after yesterday’s experiment!

If you didnt have chance to read yesterday’s post (maybe because a Unicorn stood on your phone or a Care Bear stole your Wi Fi connection) then no bother – here’s the link

I used the Aloe Moisturising Lotion underneath my makeup as a primer to see how it would look after a stuffy 8 hours in the office.

My makeup didn’t move an inch! It was great. I didn’t have to reapply any highlighter or powder, my base was completely static and I even had a compliment or two on my look from colleagues.

However, I decided not to use it this morning so I could see the difference.

My foundation gathered slightly in places – it didn’t cover my face as smoothly and usually, after about 6 hours in the office, my makeup starts to thin out. Now, I use a great foundation – Double Wear Estee Lauder – but this just goes to show that you can’t always rely on your foundation as a sole base and I wholly recommend the Aloe Moisturising Lotion to help.

Don’t get me wrong, haven’t gone out of the house looking like Josie Cunningham or some sort of crazy make up lady, but I could definitely feel the difference when applying today’s face paint.

Have you used Aloe Moisturising Lotion  before? Let me know your thoughts!

It’s safe to say I’ll definitely be buying a tube.

Should I Use It Forever?

Remember yesterday when I was going on about Forever Living? Well, it’s time for my first review.

I started yesterday with ‘Aloe Hand & Face Soap’ and ‘Aloe Moisturising Lotion’.

Both – of course – boasting lavish amounts of Aloe, the Face & Hand Soap uses a non-irritant formula, while the moisturiser maintains natural pH balance and contains elastin, collagen and jojoba oil.

But enough with the mumbo jumbo – did they work?

*You can see more descriptions and prices in the below photos*

First, I used the face soap. Now, due to my sensitive skin, usually after using these washes, my face feels tighter than a pair of jeans straight out the dryer and the colour resembles that of a baboons backside, so naturally, I didn’t expect much different.

Refreshingly, my face didn’t go through the usual notions and more importantly, I felt clean. One pump of the soap is wayyy enough as it lathers quickly and is thicker than Joey Essex on University Challenge.

Proceeding with this new found morning routine, I used the lotion. Now, to me, moisturisers are the same really. Some thinner than others and some perfumed – that’s as far as the lotion connoisseur inside me can go.

I didn’t expect much different from this one and to be fair, I didn’t get much else. However, what I did like about this product was the silkiness of the cream. It wasn’t too thick or thin, it had just the right amount of coverage and it was super soft. My face absorbed the lotion really quickly to, something different to my usual Nivea collection, which actually made it a great primer for my makeup.

I always moisturise my face in the morning and use my makeup over the top but I never really notice anything, but the lotion was different. My makeup stayed in place all day and there was absolutely no need to reapply any other product.

I’ve used the moisturiser / primer again today to check I wasn’t just having a conveniently fab skin day, so I’ll report back later in case my views change after a full 8 hours in a stuffy office where my makeup usually sweats off so fast it could give Usain Bolt a run for his money.

Overall, I was pleased!

Have a gander at my snaps – or even better – try them yourself and let me know your thoughts!

Love, Tasha.
